About Us
Our Institute was established by a Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette dated 20 April 2023, following the decision taken at the meeting of our University Senate on 7 October 2022, which was deemed appropriate by the Council of Higher Education Presidency in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547 on Higher Education. At the meeting of the Higher Education Executive Board on 6 December 2023, the Presidency of the Higher Education Council's Education and Training Department decided that, in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547, as amended by Law No. 2880, the Department of Climate Change and Biodiversity Sustainability and the Department of Wildlife Population Management would be established within our Institute. -2 of Law No. 2547, as amended by Law No. 2880, it was decided to establish three departments within our Institute: the Department of Climate Change and Biodiversity Sustainability, the Department of Wildlife Population Management and Conservation Biology, and the Department of Wildlife Diseases and Rehabilitation. Our Institute continues its activities with its director, deputy director and teaching staff.
The objectives of our Institute are: • Diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to wild animals, combating diseases, care, feeding and recovery of injured animals, ensuring their welfare and rehabilitation, • Developing surveillance systems for wildlife diseases, early diagnosis, reporting, and disease management in relation to zoonotic diseases of wild animals and public health issues from a global biosecurity perspective, • Revealing the biological richness of our country, species diversity and rare species, especially in areas such as steppes and wetlands,
